A startup to deal with bad customer service? Maybe that’s what we may need

Delhivery, one of India’s largest third-party ecommerce brands has found itself in a soup with bad customer service. A Reddit user has sparked a viral discussion about poor customer service by brands and wants to know if there’s anyone who can set up a startup to follow up on unresponsive complaints.

“I’m not here to give a startup idea or pitch something. I’m just screaming into the world hoping someone out there listens.

We are living in a country where customer service is treated like a joke. Companies like Delhivery cancel paid deliveries without reason, force you to call them 10+ times, and then make you go collect the package yourself. Paid for doorstep delivery, ended up being my own delivery guy travelling 8 Kms to get my package.

Their helpline ? Useless. No human, just bots, call disconnects, and zero callbacks. It’s like they built a system to avoid responsibility at all costs,” the user posted in the StartupIndia community.

I’ve dropped a message to the CEO of Delhivery on Linkedin, tried attaching a screenshot but the platform didn’t allow.

About going to social media ? I’ve done that too — but it’s become so normal now. It’s as common as those garbage dump yards you see all over Bangalore roadside. Everyone sees them, but nobody cares.

Maybe this can also be included as part of the startup idea: a system where anyone who’s faced the same issue or dealt with the same company can report it. For example, if there are 200 complaints against Delhivery in the last month alone, that clearly signals a major issue.

This isn’t just about posting complaints online — it’s about dragging these companies to court and slapping them with massive fines. And once it hits the courts, the media will follow. That’s how we start real accountability.” the user added.

Man, preach. I’d sign up for a “legal SWAT team for bad service” app in a second. Imagine just uploading your proof, seeing your complaint bundled with a hundred others, and companies actually feeling the pain for once. Until someone builds it, we’re all just doing our own customer service marathons.”, another user responded.

A customer experience review report by ServiceNow has claimed that Indian customers waste 15 billion hours- more than their collective lifetimes- waiting to get their complaints resolved, even as companies increasingly rely on AI to automate their customer support operations.

Unresponsive support forces customers to switch brands, even as negative reviews and ratings seldom have the desired effect.
