New Delhi, September 1: Government of India has reduced the stock holding limit for sugar dealers from 4,000 quintals to 2,000 quintals, effective from 15th September, 2026 till 30th November, 2026, to ensure adequate availability of sugar in the domestic market and to prevent hoarding and speculative trading of sugar. At present, a stock holding limit of 4,000 quintals on sugar dealers across the country is effective from 1st August, 2026. New Delhi, September 1: Indian Railways has approved the construction of a 11 km bypass line between Adra end and Joychandipahar in South Eastern Railway at a total cost of ₹272 crore. The project will provide dedicated path segregation and a bi-directional connection to the upcoming third line, facilitating projected movement of 6.065 freight rakes per day and supporting the anticipated increase in industrial traffic.
