Chinese artificial intelligence laboratory DeepSeek has released an open-source agent framework aimed at competing directly with Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex, marking a significant escalation in the global race for AI-driven software development tools. The new framework, called DeepSeek Harness v0.1, is built on a modular architecture named Cordis, where “everything is a plugin.” This design allows developers to swap out models, tools, sandboxes, filesystems, orchestration logic and user interfaces, offering a level of flexibility not seen in rival platforms. Harness can inspect code repositories, edit files, execute shell commands, maintain development plans, invoke specialized skills and delegate tasks…

Anthropic’s potential initial public offering is being valued against an ambitious revenue forecast of up to $200 billion in 2028, highlighting the extraordinary growth expectations surrounding the artificial intelligence company. The Claude maker is projecting revenue of approximately $190 billion to $200 billion in 2028, according to people familiar with its financials cited by Reuters. The forecast is central to discussions over the company’s IPO valuation, with bankers and investors looking several years ahead rather than relying only on Anthropic’s current earnings. Bankers use forward projections Using revenue estimates from two years into the future is an unusual approach in…

OpenAI has introduced Computer History, an optional feature in the ChatGPT desktop application for macOS that allows ChatGPT and Codex to reference selected activity across apps and websites. The company says the feature is designed to help users continue tasks without repeatedly explaining what they have already done. How the feature works Computer History records interaction events exposed through macOS accessibility features, including clicks, text input, keyboard shortcuts and switches between applications. Unlike OpenAI’s earlier Chronicle research preview, the feature does not rely on screenshots or screen recordings. It also excludes microphone input, system audio and private-browsing activity, according to…

With the stock of high-quality public text on the internet nearly exhausted, OpenAI, Anthropic and other leading AI developers are quietly purchasing internal corporate communications — employee emails, Slack-style chats, video meeting transcripts and code-review histories — to train their next-generation models, according to a report by The Information published on August 13 citing about 20 industry sources. Enterprise Data Becomes the New Oil for AI The market for private business data has exploded in 2026. Bobby Samuels, chief executive of data brokerage firm Protege, said his company’s gross transaction volume jumped from $30 million in 2025 to at least…

Some Claude users are canceling their paid subscriptions after Anthropic introduced an invisible watermark designed to identify text generated by supported versions of its artificial-intelligence chatbot. Anthropic began applying the “imperceptible watermark” to text produced by Claude models launched on or after August 2, according to reports. The marker is intended to remain associated with the text when it is copied and pasted, and may survive certain forms of editing. The company has also introduced provenance metadata for some AI-generated files, including images.businessinsider+1 The move is part of Anthropic’s effort to improve transparency around AI-generated content and comply with provisions…

A newly disclosed AI API vulnerability affecting systems from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google has raised fresh concerns over how hidden reasoning data is handled by some of the world’s most widely used AI platforms. Researchers found that encrypted reasoning blocks generated by advanced AI models could, in certain cases, be passed to other models from the same provider and decoded into readable text. The issue potentially exposed sensitive information contained inside a model’s hidden reasoning, even when that information never appeared in the visible response shown to users. The findings were detailed in a research paper titled Stealing Reasoning Traces…

Replit CEO Amjad Masad has offered a strikingly optimistic view of artificial intelligence’s impact on software development, arguing that coding agents are making engineering work more creative, collaborative and “human”. Speaking to tech journalist Casey Newton, Masad said Replit’s workplace had become “more vibrant” since engineers began using AI agents to write, test and deploy software. Instead of spending most of their time typing code, employees are increasingly discussing ideas, working at whiteboards and experimenting with different product concepts. “Two years ago, everyone was hands on keyboard, you hear clicking all the time,” Masad said. “Now, actually, it’s a lot…

Delhi: Delhi Police arrested an Indian Air Force Wing Commander for allegedly leaking classified information to a suspected Pakistani intelligence agent. The officer, 44, fell for a honey trap — someone posing as a woman on social media built a relationship with him through chats and video calls, eventually coaxing him into sharing confidential details. Police say he sent photos of his base, sensitive research documents, and troop movement information. It started when the IAF’s Air Intelligence Unit noticed something was off and put him under surveillance. Turns out, he’d been talking regularly with an international number linked to a…

New Delhi:  Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran on Friday warned the financial sector against overlooking the security risks posed by artificial intelligence, stressing that institutions must prioritise safeguards before embracing the technology’s benefits. Speaking at the ASSOCHAM India International Fintech Festival 2026 here, Nageswaran said recent instances of AI agents attempting to breach other AI systems without explicit prompts underscore the urgency of strengthening cybersecurity frameworks. “Whether it is the Anthropic or Meta agents going and hacking other institutions’ IT systems without being prompted to do so, the key aspect is that we generally do not pay attention to…
