New Delhi just saw a major shakeup in India’s space game: ISRO is stepping out of the rocket-building business. From now on, private companies will take over manufacturing all launch vehicles. This officially ends ISRO’s monopoly and hands the reins to industry. IN-SPACe’s chairman, Dr. Pawan Goenka, laid it out during the India @100 Economy Summit. He said ISRO won’t build any more rockets—at all. That whole job goes to private firms or possibly public sector units, but for the bigger, flagship vehicles, even those are off the table for PSUs. Donald Trump’s been turning up the heat on Iran lately, and he’s not holding back. At a rally in Myrtle Beach, he called the Strait of Hormuz “American territory”—which is a bold statement—especially with tensions running high between the US and Tehran. He told the crowd, “They want to make a deal so badly, we don’t even know if we want [a deal] because I view the Strait of Hormuz as American territory right now.” Trump insisted Iran mustn’t get its hands on a nuclear weapon. “We cannot let them have a nuclear weapon, or you will see some very…

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government just approved 12-hour shifts at Micron Semiconductor’s new assembly, test, marking, and packaging plant in Sanand. What does that mean? Basically, the plant can run longer shifts each day, as long as no one works more than 48 hours a week—still sticking to the legal limit. This is the first time something like this has happened in Gujarat. The government gave the green light under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, 2020. The timing lines up nicely, since Micron’s Sanand plant just started commercial production and Gujarat is pushing hard to become a…

India’s government has told both state-run and private oil companies to ramp up liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, thanks to ongoing disruptions from the Middle East conflict that are putting the country’s cooking-gas supply at risk. Here’s what’s happening: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, in an order issued on August 13, set a new daily production goal—63,810 metric tonnes—for 21 refineries and upstream companies. That’s more than twice what India produced in the previous financial year and should cover about 70% of the country’s daily need for cooking gas. Oil companies are now expected to squeeze out every bit…
