New Delhi, September 30: On the occasion of Swachhata Hi Seva, the Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department organized a workshop on “Best out of Waste – Turning Waste into Wonder: Kabad Se Jugad” on 29th September, 2026 at the Conference Hall, Kartavya Bhawan-2.
The workshop was conducted with experts from India Aids (NGO) and N.K. Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka, Sector-4. The experts included Smt. Archana Srivastava, General Secretary, India Aids (NGO); Ms. Anjali Kharbanda, Principal, N.K. Bagrodia Public School; Ms. Baisakhi Bhattacharjee, TGT (Science) & School Social Responsibility Coordinator; Ms. Sweta Tulsyan, PGT (Geography) & Health and Wellness Coordinator, NKBPS; Ms. Vidushi Sinha, Alumni – NKBPS & Volunteer, India Aids (NGO); and Aryan Gupta, Alumni – NKBPS & Volunteer, India Aids (NGO).
The workshop was chaired by Shri G. Panmei, Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel (JS&LC), along with other senior officers and staff members of the Department. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from the officers and staff of the Department, including its attached offices, i.e., the Official Language Wing and Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan.
During the workshop, the experts explained and demonstrated various creative and practical ways of transforming waste and discarded materials into useful and innovative products. They shared simple and effective ideas for giving a new purpose to materials that are otherwise considered waste. As part of the hands-on demonstration, the experts and volunteers prepared sample articles from waste materials under the theme “Kabad Se Jugad”, showcasing how creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness can convert discarded items into useful and attractive articles. The demonstration also highlighted the importance of reusing available materials and adopting environmentally responsible practices.
The workshop concluded with a message to encourage responsible waste management, recycling, and sustainable living. The initiative reinforced the idea that, with creativity and collective effort, waste can be transformed into useful and meaningful products, thereby contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.
Shri Panmei, JS&LC, emphasized the importance of adopting innovative and sustainable practices in day-to-day life and encouraged the participants to explore creative ways of making optimum use of waste materials. He appreciated the enthusiasm and involvement of the participants and highlighted that small and consistent efforts towards reuse, recycling, and responsible waste management can make a meaningful contribution towards a cleaner and greener environment.
