New Delhi: With the launch less than a day away, the spec sheets for both the iQOO 16 and the iQOO Pad Ultra have surfaced. The source is Digital Chat Station, a Weibo tipster with a decent track record, and the details were relayed by reports. Nothing is official yet, so treat it all as a leak until iQOO says otherwise.
Start with the phone. The tip describes a 6.85-inch Samsung OLED panel at “2K+” resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate. Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, paired with iQOO’s own Q4 gaming chip. That’s the same approach the company has been taking for a while, a flagship Qualcomm processor plus a small dedicated silicon helper for games.
The cameras are all 50MP. The main sensor is a 1/1.3-inch unit, and the ultrawide matches it on resolution. The periscope telephoto gives 3x optical zoom on Sony’s IMX882. The selfie camera is 32MP.
The battery is the headline number: 8,400mAh. Charging is listed at 100W wired and 40W wireless. Other items include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, a dual-axis vibration motor, symmetrical stereo speakers, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and USB 3.2.
The tablet is the more unusual half of the leak. The Pad Ultra reportedly has an 8.8-inch OLED at 2304×1440 in a 16:10 shape, also running at 165Hz. It uses the same Snapdragon chip and Q4 gaming silicon as the phone. It also has a built-in “large size” cooling fan, which you almost never see in a tablet this small. The battery is 9,020 mAh with 66W wired charging. It’s said to be only 5.74mm thick and to weigh 298g, and that combination of fan, big battery and thin body is the part I’d want to see confirmed. Squeezing active cooling into a slab that thin is not trivial.
Dual X-axis vibration motors and symmetrical stereo speakers round out the tablet’s gaming pitch. iQOO has already teased dedicated gaming accessories for it, so the direction is clear.
Pricing wasn’t part of the leak, which is the question most buyers will care about most. We’ll know soon enough, since the official unveiling is expected within a day.
