Ahmedabad, September 24: Used products marketplace OLX India has announced a partnership with Landmark Cars, one of India’s largest car dealerships, to offer its customers an omnichannel experience. OLX India has served more than 5 lakh customers for used cars since inception, and witnesses more than 23 million consumers buying or selling used cars annually.
With this partnership, OLX India aims to leverage Landmark’s existing network to address one of the biggest challenges in the used car business, especially for online platforms: the trust deficit. With Landmark’s 140+ retail and service centers on board, this ‘phygital’ model is expected to help both companies boost their visibility in the used car business, which is valued at almost $40 billion, according to a report by Markntel advisor.
This partnership will offer customers a single journey allowing them to discover cars online, make in-person inspections and conduct test drives, financing and registrations offline along with post sale servicing as well, all on an integrated platform.
“Consumers today increasingly seek the convenience of digital discovery backed by the trust and confidence of a physical touchpoint. Our association with OLX India brings together complementary strengths. OLX India’s digital reach, combined with Landmark’s customer trust, inspection rigour, financing relationships and after-sales capabilities, provides us with an opportunity to address a much larger customer base.” Mr. Aryaman Thakker, Executive Director, Landmark Cars Limited, said in a press release.
“With this partnership, we aim to offer consumers a more trusted, secure and seamless experience across the entire buying and selling journey. From discovery, pricing and matchmaking to vehicle handover, quality assurance and after-sales support, the partnership is designed to provide greater transparency, convenience and confidence at every stage of the transaction.
Landmark brings decades of dealership expertise and a strong physical footprint, while OLX India brings digital consumer reach, technology, data and market intelligence. Together, we are building a stronger assurance layer for consumers, combining digital discovery with trusted offline fulfilment and support.” Mr. Varun Sanghi, Chairman, OLX India, added.
Currently, almost 70% of the used car market is dominated by local dealers, though online platforms are gaining ground with a 26.85% CAGR, as per a report by Mordor Intelligence. With this partnership, OLX India can get an upper hand in the market, even as rivals like Cars24 and Spinny gain market share. How OLX manages to leverage its and Landmark’s strengths remains to be seen.
