New Delhi: Honor has officially revealed details of its up-coming Robot Phone permitting individuals to get in touch with a close look at what may be among the company’s most state-of-the-art camera phones ever. This came as a part of the company’s newest imaging technology presentation at a stop in Chinese town Hengdian, where Honor has also announced a new cooperation with German cinema camera manufacturer ARRI. The mobile will go on sale on August 12.
The Honor Robot Phone will also come with a triple rear camera system that will include a 200MP primary sensor with a large 1/1.28” sensor and an aperture of f/1.6. The app is installed on Honor’s signature three-axis stabilizing mount set on the main camera that promises smoother images and video. The camera setup is also ultra-wide with 50MP and long-range zoom photography with a 200MP periscope camera.
Honor’s all-new Yuguang H1 imaging chip is one of the main highlights, as it was developed in-house to enhance image processing. The phone also features a smaller (65% smaller) and more powerful (35% torque density) (2.6 gram) gimbal motor, the company says, compared with common smartphone gimbal motors. Honor further revealed that the Robot Phone has received more than 100 patents, showing the amount of research and engineering behind the device.
On the software end, the Robot Phone has a new image processor on its device for real-time white balance, exposure, tone, glare reduction and image detail adjustments. The video footage is also stabilized by the new stabilization engine, dubbed AIMAGE 2.0, which promises smooth playback when the operator is on the move.
ARRI adds pro-level filmmaking capabilities to the smartphone. Those will receive support for Log-C video recording, LUT color grading, and manual focus, white balance, and exposure controls. According to Honor, these features are meant to put more professional shooting experience into the creative filmmaker’s smartphone.
Honor also revealed that the imaging technologies that will be used in the Robot Phone will not be a one-off; they will be present on all Honors’ devices in the future. The company intends to introduce the new camera system in the next generation of mobile phones and will launch a new camera system development joint laboratory with ARRI to continue developing subsequent mobile camera system technologies.
