New Delhi: Microsoft is continuing to expand its Artificial Intelligence (AI) investments as CEO Satya Nadella positions the company for long-term growth in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology sectors. AI has become a central part of Microsoft’s business strategy, influencing products across cloud computing, productivity software, cybersecurity, and enterprise services.
The company has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI and has integrated AI capabilities into many of its products, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI, Windows, and Bing. These AI tools help businesses improve productivity by generating content, writing code, analyzing data, and automating repetitive tasks.
Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom. Demand for AI computing has driven strong growth in Azure, with businesses increasingly using Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to build and deploy AI applications. To support this demand, Microsoft continues investing heavily in global data centres, advanced networking, and high-performance AI chips.
Satya Nadella has said AI represents a major technology shift similar to the rise of the internet and cloud computing. According to him, Microsoft’s goal is to make AI available to every organization and individual through secure, enterprise-ready solutions.
The company is also working closely with leading chip manufacturers, including Nvidia and AMD, while developing its own AI chips to improve performance and reduce costs. Microsoft expects AI infrastructure spending to remain high over the coming years as demand for generative AI continues growing.
