Zen Technologies Q1 operating revenues down 10% on slower order executions

Hyderabad: Zen Technologies Limited reported a 10.5% year on year decline in consolidated revenue to ₹141.64 crore in Q1FY27 from ₹158.22 crore during the same period last year. Net profits also declined to ₹ 34.46 crore from ₹47.75 crore during the same period. The defence major also recorded an inventory loss of ₹3.37 crore due to a fire incident at a company facility during the quarter.

Despite this, the company’s order book value has reached ₹1.239.02 crore, with ₹44.62 crores worth of orders bagged during the quarter. ₹85.25 crore from the total order book has come from overseas. The Hyderabad-based homegrown defence major has noted that most of the contracts carry 12 month delivery windows, with most of the revenues expected during the subsequent quarters of FY27.

“We entered FY27 with clear visibility on execution. We closed the quarter with a consolidated order book of ₹1,239.02 crore as at 30 June 2026 and subsequently received a further simulator order of ₹177.50 crore in July 2026 for the upgradation and integration of Tank and Crew Gunnery Simulators. Taken together, this represents a strong and executable order book, the majority of which is scheduled for conversion into revenue from Q2 FY27 onward. We remain on track with our delivery schedules.

The quarter also advanced our capabilities as a leader in anti-drone systems and defence training solutions. We introduced new products during the quarter, including an AI-powered anti-drone system, the Hyperstrike interceptor drone, the Zen Vrishab unmanned ground vehicle and the Integrated Smart Border Suite. These new products complement our established position in the anti-drone and training markets,” the company said in a press release.

Shares of Zen Technologies were down more than 4% at ₹1,682 in early morning trades on July 27, the stock has risen 31% over the past 6 months.
