New Delhi: DJI has recently started working on a follow-up to its first 360-degree camera, and several latest leaks from sources offer a look at an engineering prototype of the Osmo 360 II. However, the design stays close to the original as it has a similar square body and lens layout that hasn’t changed much.
The camera, listed under model number OQ002, has also shown up in FCC filings, which reveal the battery upgrade from 1,950mAh to 2,150mAh. This increase might offer users more recording time before they need to recharge or swap batteries.
Osmo 360 II is also stated to bring NFC support; this might let users pair the camera with their phone and transfer files just by tapping the two devices together, something most panoramic cameras still don’t offer. However, DJI introduced its original Osmo 360 in July 2025 with a 1-inch sensor, native 8K/50fps panoramic video, and panoramic photos up to 120MP.
The first Osmo 360 also leaked via FCC filings months before DJI made it official; the debut followed shortly after, so this pattern of early certification leaks lining up with the real release isn’t the latest for DJI. Beyond the FCC listing, real-world photos and field test footage of the Osmo 360 II are now making the rounds too, which usually means that the development might be further along with early testing.
