New Delhi: Google has recently reported they are preparing for a major update for its upcoming mid-range device, the Google Pixel 11a. A latest leak has reported key specifications, including a flagship-level Tensor G6 processor, MediaTek M90 modem, and the latest Titan M3 security chip. However, the information is now based on leaks and has not been officially confirmed by the company.
The biggest and most major upgrade on the Pixel 11a is the inclusion of Google’s next-generation Tensor G6 chipset, unlike the earlier Pixel A-series devices that often use older flagship processors. Pixel 11a might receive a similar generation processor as the premium Pixel 11 lineup. Tensor G6 is expected to be manufactured using a more advanced 2nm process. However, the chip is expected to continue Google’s aim of AI performance instead of only raw benchmark scores.
One of the biggest upgrades might be a shift away from Samsung’s Exynos-based modem solutions. Pixel 11a is reported to sport MediaTek’s M90 modem, which is also expected across the Pixel 11 series. It will improve 5G signal stability, battery efficiency during mobile data usage, network performance in weak coverage areas, and overall thermal performance. Pixel 11a might be preparing to include Google’s next-generation Titan M3 security chip. Dedicated security hardware is specially designed to protect sensitive information, encryption keys, biometric data, and secure transactions.
Pixel 11a might retain the 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and higher peak brightness compared with Pixel 10a. It might feature a battery around 4,870mAh, which is slightly smaller than the several previous Pixel A-series models. The efficiency improvements from the Tensor G6 and the MediaTek modem might help to maintain strong battery life.
