New Delhi: Recently, Samsung has officially announced that its upcoming One UI 9, based on Android 17, will going to debut along with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, 2026. The major highlight is the integration of Google’s Gemini Intelligence, which brings Android 17’s latest AI capabilities directly to Galaxy devices.
Gemini Intelligence is Google’s next-generation AI framework built into Android 17. Unlike the earlier Gemini integrations, which mostly relied on cloud processing. Gemini Intelligence combines on-device AI processing, cloud AI when needed, cross-app intelligence, natural voice interactions, and personalized assistance.
According to the company and Android 17 announcements, users can expect Voice-controlled phone actions, Smarter contextual assistance, Improved productivity, enhanced multimodal AI, and Custom widgets. Samsung also notes that while One UI 9 will expand to many Galaxy devices, Gemini Intelligence will be limited to premium hardware.
Because it requires 12GB or more RAM with dedicated AI Core or NPU support with Gemini Nano v3 and high-end flagship processors, this actually means many mid-range and older Galaxy devices might receive One UI 9 but not all Gemini Intelligence features.
Samsung is also refining the user experience with the latest 3D floating Quick Settings panel that no longer covers the full display. Smoother animations, better multitasking for foldables, more polished interface elements, improved accessibility, and stronger privacy and security controls.
