Aurum Proptech strengthens its digital real estate play, acquires Housing.com for ₹458 crore

Mumbai: Listed real estate technology firm Aurum PropTech Limited has announced a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Locon Solutions Private Limited, the parent company of property portal Housing.com.

The transaction is set at an enterprise value of ₹458.06 crore and will be executed through a share swap arrangement.  The transaction is expected to close by September 30, with Aurum Proptech issuing 1.97 lakh new equity shares to Locon’s owners, representing about 20.5% of the company’s enlarged share capital.

“Aurum PropTech has entered into a binding Share Acquisition Agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Housing.com in an all-equity transaction, through the issuance of 1,97,93,309 equity shares (representing approximately 20.5 per cent of the enlarged share capital). Following the transaction, REA India’s total shareholding in Aurum PropTech will increase to 24.9 per cent,” the company said in a press release.

With this, Housing.com will be joining Aurum PropTech’s ecosystem, where its consumer-facing real estate marketplace will be integrated with Aurum PropTech’s AI enabled services. Housing.com’s 58 million average monthly visitors will eventually become a part of Aurum’s broader technology enabled ecosystem.

While Aurum could gain immensely with this acquisition, it will have to find a way to address its own operational challenges, given that it reported its maiden profit only in Q3 of FY2025-26.
