New Delhi: OnePlus has officially started its rollout of the OxygenOS 16 upgrade that was previously held due to it causing boot problems on devices. OnePlus has officially informed the community in a post that, after some further investigation, the issue related to versions 16.0.7XXX and 16.05.XXX has now been identified and resolved.
OnePlus has also added that it has been confirmed that there was no external user impact, and users who have already upgraded their devices can now continue to use them normally.
Previously, OnePlus had temporarily hold the rollout of its OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX and OxygenOS 16.0.5.XXX updates after several users reported experiencing abnormal restart behavior and boot-related problems with the following installations.
OnePlus has also confirmed this move via its community forum, stating the rollout was halted as a precautionary step while the issue was investigated.
OnePlus has also stated its engineering teams were prioritizing the problem and working on a fix to prevent wider stability concerns. OnePlus also said that the rollout might resume only after the software underwent additional reliability and stability testing.
OnePlus also acknowledged the inconvenience caused to affected users and stated it was reviewing its internal testing and quality assurance procedures to reduce the chances of similar software-related issues appearing in future upgrades.
During the internal rollout monitoring, its teams detected abnormal behavior in one of the builds that was not been pushed externally to the users. As a precaution, OnePlus has temporarily paused the rollout while completing a detailed investigation and validation process, by ensuring that the device stability and the user experience will going to remain top priorities.
