Mumbai: Automaker Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has recorded a rise in sales for Q4 with sales increasing 21% year-on-year to 99,969 units. This has helped the company close FY26 with strong annual volumes across categories.
Passenger Vehicles: The SUV Powerhouse
The SUV segment remains the flagship portfolio for Mahindra, with the company managing to overtake Tata Motors to become India’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer by volume in FY26. Sales have risen 8% in the final quarter on the back of strong demand for the XUV700, Scorpio-N, and Thar.
Commercial Vehicles: Trucks and Buses Lead the Charge
The company has witnessed strong growth for its Trucks and Buses segment as well, with sales rising 11% in the quarter, with its cargo segment seeing a 15% year on year jump. Following the acquisition of the SML Isuzu stake, it has expanded its service network to 450 touchpoints and aims to become a top 3 position in the ILCV (Intermediate Light Commercial Vehicle) segment.
Integration & Financial Performance: SML Mahindra
The integration of SML Isuzu into the Mahindra ecosystem has begun to show in its revenues, with growth increasing to 16.4% to ₹898 crore and net profitability rising to ₹54.20 crore. The company is now aiming to enter the electric bus segment in FY27.
Besides this, the company has been focusing on expanding its rugged and premium SUVs, with growth in its LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles) under 3.5 tonnes offering a steady demand from rural logistics and e-commerce players.
