Nissan Gravite MPV launch date confirmed for Jan 2026

New Delhi: Nissan India has unveiled its latest and upcoming compact MPV, christened Gravite, which is set to be launched in the Indian market in early 2026. It will be available in showrooms from March 2026. This announcement follows the unveiling of the Tekton SUV, which is also part of the brand’s new lineup of products launching in the country. The brand has a third product planned for the country, which will be a seven-seater SUV to be launched in 2027. The Japanese automaker plans on beginning the expansion of its product lineup with the launch of Gravite in the new year.

The other models of the brand will be launched in close succession with a gap of a few months. Following the Gravite closely will be Tekton with the seven-seater SUV coming in 2027. It is worth mentioning that until now, Nissan had its presence in one segment with the Magnite. While the design has not fully revealed, the brand has given a glimpse of the design of the Gravite. It comes with a fresh design that follows the latest design language of the brand. It comes with a fresh face consisting of the new grille sporting the Nissan badge, complemented by the use of chrome.

It gets the latest design for the headlamp placed on either side. The vehicle also receives a hood scoop-like design on the bonnet, which gives it a rather muscular look. While the silhouette of the MPV is reminiscent of the Triber, there are multiple fresh elements adding to its newness. It will likely get the latest design for the alloy wheels, while functional roof rails are visible in the teaser images. The rear end of the vehicle gets a fresh design for the tail lamp, complemented by the presence of chrome. Details about the interior remain undisclosed; there is a chance that the MPV will come with completely new interiors utilising various materials for the dashboard.

It may share some features with the Triber, the MPV is anticipated to provide a three-row seating arrangement, enabling versatile configurations of 5, 6, or 7 seats. The set of features is expected to consist of a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, cooled storage in the centre, and second row seats that can slide and recline. Nissan Gravite MPV is expected to use a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 72 hp and 96 Nm, and it comes with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission, just like the Triber. While the Nissan is expected to fine-tune the engine and gearbox for better drivability, the core mechanical configuration will remain unchanged.
