New Delhi: Lamborghini has officially announced its latest Temerario Super Trofeo, a new one-make racing car that will make its competitive debut in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships across Asia, Europe, and North America from 2027. This unveiling took place during the Lamborghini World Finals weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. This latest model becomes the sixth Super Trofeo car since Automobili Lamborghini launched its Squadra Corse racing division in 2009, following in the footsteps of the Gallardo and Huracn race cars that have defined the series for over a decade. The Temerario Super Trofeo will succeed the Huracn Super Trofeo Evo2, which has served as the competition benchmark since 2022.
This latest Temerario Super Trofeo continues Lamborghini’s tradition of developing bespoke, track-only machines exclusively for its one-make series. It replaces the Huracn Super Trofeo, a model that has enjoyed enormous success through three iterations since 2015. Over the period, more than 1383 drivers have competed in the 563 races across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, making the Super Trofeo one of the most successful single-make series in the world.
The Temerario Super Trofeo is inspired by the Temerario GT3, which debuted earlier this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and is set to compete at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026. Both models are from the backbone of Lamborghini’s next-generation customer racing programme. The Temerario Super Trofeo houses a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 641bhp. This race car is purely combustion-powered and features rear-wheel drive. Power is delivered through a six-speed sequential gearbox, developed in collaboration with Hoer, the same supplier used in the GT3 version.
The car’s construction features an ALU/CFK hybrid chassis with a fully integrated FIA roll cage, ensuring both rigidity and safety. The sophisticated setup includes ABS braking, a 12-point adjustable traction control system, and a range of high-performance components shared with the GT3, making it an ideal training platform for both aspiring professional racers and gentleman drivers looking to graduate to GT competition. The interior features Dinamica Infinity, the world’s first 100% PES mono-component non-woven suede for automotive use. This innovative material, debuting with Lamborghini Motorsport in 2027, will be used on dashboards to deliver superior performance and sustainability.
