Honda Parts ways with OMC power to create a stable electricity in India

New Delhi: The Honda Motor Company has gone a long way to help in clean and reliable electricity in India. The company declared that it would invest in OMC Power Private Limited which is an Indian company dealing with energy. This joint venture is also aimed at ensuring that individuals in the rural and semi-urban regions have access to a reliable power supply due to the frequent power outages.

Most of India has continued to experience power cuts in most of its regions. To address this, the majority of households and retail outlets rely on diesel plants. However these generators cause harmful smoke and enhance pollution. Better and cleaner way Honda and OMC Power settled on this issue.

Both companies are undertaking a pilot project of a smart energy device in Uttar Pradesh since 2023. This gadget utilizes the battery system developed by Honda, which is entitled Honda Mobile power pack e. The first application of these batteries is in the electric motorcycles of Honda. Once they are large enough to use in vehicles, they are again reused to store the electricity in houses and stores. This does not only save money but protects the environment as well.

The device is very simple in its operation. It will charge the battery when there is normal electricity available. And with a power outage there is the same battery giving power to the residence or company. This implies that individuals will be able to carry on with their work, studies, or regular daily activities without any remorse.

OMC Power is planning to start a new business in India in January 2026 to lease such special UPS devices to small shops, schools, and homes. The batteries will be supplied by the Honda branch in India known as Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd., which will then be integrated with their UPS device and then rented out by OMC Power.

Not only this project will assist people in having constant electricity, but much diesel generators usage will also be reduced. It is an excellent illustration of how technology could simplify life and make it cleaner simultaneously.

According to Minoru Kato, the senior officer of Honda, Honda would like to leverage its products of electric mobility to create more powerful energy systems. According to him, the reuse of old batteries used in electric motorcycles would enable them to address large scale issues such as pollution and power deficiency. He further stated that Honda desires to make the life of people easier and enjoyable through such endeavors.

According to OMC Power CEO, Rohit Chandra, this tie-up with Honda is giving India credit.

He said that it was a mix of international experience and Indian creativity…

The reason according to him, it promotes the dreams of Make in India and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat is the promotion of local production and sustainable energy solutions.

This agreement is a giant leap towards the future of India. Not only will it offer energy security but it will also open new horizons to clean technology. The best beneficiaries will be people who are residing in the regions where electricity is of low quality because they will eventually have a stable and more environment-friendly source of power.

The collaboration further demonstrates the possibility of large international corporations and national local companies collaborating in order to address actual issues. Replenishing used batteries and breaking down pollution, Honda and OMC Power are showing that it is possible to be smart and green at the same time.
