By this service, they aim to expand computing access in the country where PCs are still out of the reach of many. By this service, Reliance wanted to offer an affordable personal computer at your home by just paying an affordable amount of Rs 5,499, which is pretty good pricing for many people who cannot afford those heavy PCs. Now the main question will be raised like, “What is JioPC, and how does it work for the users?”.
So, JioPC is a virtual desktop service, and it is easy to access just by plugging the keyboard and mouse into the TV and making a simple setup of JioPC on the user’s TV and ready to use this virtual cloud personal computer. This JioPC does not support any external devices like cameras or printers, and it does not come with a pre-installed Microsoft Office. But instead of this, there is pre-installed LibreOffice, an open-source alternative. Users can access the Office tools through the browser itself.
By the government data, India has around 57 million of active setup box, and after the online streaming there are many people who don’t use the television, they purchase the subscription of the platform and they watch movies and series in that platform itself and they are easy to access through mobile phone and television, and by seeing these Jio get into the line of computing by just launching their JioPC for the users, which is also easy to access.
