NHAI launches ₹3,000 Annual FASTag Pass, saves ₹7,000 on tolls

New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to launch its Annual FASTag Pass Scheme which will debut from August 15, 2025, aimed at offering significant savings and convenience to regular highway commuters. Under this new initiative, vehicle owners can purchase an annual pass for just Rs 3,000, which entities them to 200 tolls trips crossings over the the course of a year.

Each trip under this scheme is defined as a one-way toll crossing, meaning a single pass through a toll booth, making it highly beneficial for people who frequently travel between two fixed locations or use highways regularly for the work or for personal purposes.

By breaking down the cost, users will effectively pay only Rs 15 per toll trip, compared to the usual toll charge, which can be around Rs 50 per crossing on many highways. Over 200 trips, that would typically amount to Rs 10,000 in toll fees, but with this new pass, commuters will save a minimum of Rs 7,000 annually.

This scheme is expected to provide substantial financial relief an ease of use, especially for the daily commuters, intercity travelers, and logistics operators. Full details of the scheme, including how to apply and participating toll plazas, will be made available on the official NHAI website ahead of its rollout. The move is part of NHAI’s broader efforts to digitize toll collection and make highway travel more efficient, economical, and users-friendly.
