New Delhi: Jindal IVF, a leading institute in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), has once again demonstrated its expertise in reproductive medicine by successfully treating a challenging case of male infertility caused by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. The patient, a 28-year-old woman, had been struggling with primary infertility for four years alongside her husband, who was diagnosed with azoospermia due to low levels of FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone).
After a thorough evaluation of the couple, it was determined that the wife’s reproductive health was normal, while the husband’s condition required targeted hormone therapy. Under the expert guidance of the medical team at Jindal IVF, the husband was administered human menopausal gonadotropin injections, containing 75 IU of FSH and 75 IU of LH, for an initial three months to stimulate sperm production. However, no sperms were detected in the ejaculate after this period.
Undeterred, the injections were continued, and by the fifth month, a remarkable outcome was achieved—sperms were found in the ejaculate, with around 2 million motile sperms present. This marked a breakthrough, allowing the couple to consider pregnancy using their genetic material. The couple was counselled for IVF with the wife’s self-eggs and the husband’s self-sperms, an option they were overjoyed to pursue. During the IVF process, 10 eggs were successfully retrieved from the wife, and 6 embryos were formed. In the first cycle of embryo transfer, the wife conceived, leading to a smooth pregnancy. After nine months of a healthy and uneventful pregnancy, the couple welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world.
“This case exemplifies the potential of modern reproductive medicine to overcome complex infertility issues, even when initial treatment efforts do not yield immediate results. Through persistence and precision, we were able to help this couple achieve their dream of parenthood using their eggs and sperm. The success of this case reinforces our commitment to providing tailored, compassionate care for couples facing infertility challenges,” said Dr. Sheetal Jindal, Senior Consultant and IVF-PGT Specialist at Jindal IVF.
The couple expressed immense gratitude towards Jindal IVF for the medical expertise and emotional support that enabled them to welcome their baby girl. “We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Jindal and the team at Jindal IVF for their unwavering support throughout our treatment. Being able to conceive and give birth to our child with our own genetic material is a blessing we will forever cherish,” they shared.
