New Delhi: These days, a lot of people use AI for fun, but some are using it in harmful ways, like blackmailing others for money or revenge. Recently, there have been cases where people use deepfake websites to mess with someone’s photos. in which the person will upload the picture of those people and make it nude or make it any unnecessary things in it by this they will send this picture to that person and then they will demand money if we don’t give them money they will upload on social media and mental harass them.
There are a lot of cases in India when individuals’s photos are deepfake and posted on social networking sites for harassment. As a result, Indians have trouble trusting others, and some people use this to blackmail others to obtain money. Because they are afraid, the majority of women on social media have private accounts to prevent their photos from being seen by others. but hackers can achieve that, they will send them a deepfake message demanding money; if not, they will post the photo on social media. This is the primary cause of the majority of suicides.
By those incidents, McAfee introduced Deepfake Detector which detects the pictures that are made by AI and by Deepfake, so if we see this then most people are very happy listening to that. US-based cyber security company McAfee has launched its AI-powered Deepfake Detector service in India, the feature uses AI processing on select devices compatible with Microsoft’s Copilot Plus PC platform which alerts the users that the deepfake video or audio which will get more privacy to the people. The company said that they have worked with OEMs to optimize the detecting capabilities.
In India, the McAfee+ package Copilot PCs with security features and deepfake detection would cost Rs 2,398. The McAfee Deepfake Detector is available in English language detection and costs Rs 499 as a standalone product. On certain Copilot+ PCs, the video is automatically generated by AI, and users are warned about deepfake audio and video so they can protect their privacy. The function uses gadgets to detect things automatically, saving users from having to manually upload videos.
Besides Deepfake Detector, McAfee has launched their McAfee Smart AI Hub in India, the platform offers information and educational content related to AI and cybersecurity, with a focus on AI-driven scams. Users can also submit suspicious videos for analysis by McAfee Deepfake Detection.
