New Delhi: A kitchen appliances startup Beyond Appliances has safely secured $2 million in funding in the appliances market. It has maintained a record of these and a funding round led by an early-stage venture fund by Fireside Ventures, which focused on customer brands. The round also saw participation from Dharana Capital and angel investors like Livspace cofounders Saurabh Jain and Ramakant Sharma, design cafe founder Shezan Bhojani, and former chief executive of TTK Prestige Chandru Kalro.
The funds will be used for research and development and to accelerate its manufacturing capabilities. Technology has transformed living rooms, automobiles, and health care, but it hasn’t significantly impacted home kitchens. For a long time, we wanted to innovate in that space, so with Byondnxt, we decided to focus on making a home kitchen more attractive and better, says co-founder and chief executive Eshwar K Vikas.
Founded in 2024 by Vikas and Rakesh Patil, the Bengaluru-based startup currently provides two products that are manufactured in India. The first is the smart stove equipped with hobs that feature digital timers and whistle counters. The second is the Chimney with an integrated Android system, allowing users to stream OTT content, play music, set reminders, and create grocery lists through apps like Zepto and Blinkit.
Till now they have sold approximately 2,500 units, and they will eventually build a new smart technology for home kitchens, but the gas stove and chimney market are very penetrated today. It’s growing very fast, so they will be concentrating on these two products accurately and on the market, they have sold units in the market, and the company has a plan to introduce four and five additional stock-keeping units within this fiscal year.
The company’s products are currently available on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, as well as in selected retail stores basically in Bengaluru. According to Vikas, 60-70% of its sales are in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Earlier food and grocery delivery on Zomato acquired an 8% equity stake in Byondnxt Rs 6,000.
