New Delhi: Ashish Chanchlani’s journey from making short comedy vines to becoming one of India’s top YouTubers is a story of passion and hard work. Growing up in Maharashtra, Ashish broke away from the usual career paths by following his love for acting and humor. His journey shows how believing in yourself can help you achieve success, even if you don’t fit into traditional ideas of what success looks like. Ashish’s love for acting started early, as his parents, Anil and Deepa Chanchlani, owned a multiplex in Mumbai. Surrounded by movies, he developed a deep interest in acting. Even in school, he entertained friends and teachers with his impressions and jokes.
Though acting was his passion, his parents wanted him to focus on a safer career, leading him to pursue an engineering degree. While Ashish worked on his degree, he never gave up on his dream of becoming an entertainer. He improved his acting skills by attending the Barry John Acting Studio and started observing content on social media. He created his YouTube channel in 2009 but didn’t upload his first video until 2014, after being inspired by 6-second comedy vines that were popular at the time. In 2014, Ashish saw short, funny vines on Facebook and decided to create his own, adding a desi (Indian) twist. His unique style quickly connected with Indian audiences, and in December 2014, he uploaded his first video to YouTube.
From that point, his channel “Ashish Chanchlani Vines” gained huge popularity, with his videos regularly trending. His growing fan base helped him become the fourth Indian YouTuber to earn a Diamond Play Button, a major YouTube milestone. As Ashish’s videos became more popular, he understood that his content carried more responsibility. He makes sure his videos are fun but also appropriate for all audiences. Over time, his team began spending more time planning each video to meet the expectations of his viewers. Ashish has always loved Bollywood films, and in 2018, he fulfilled a dream by collaborating with his favorite actor, Akshay Kumar. The video they made together became a huge hit. Ashish has also worked with other Bollywood stars like Shahid Kapoor, and his channel even got a cameo in the Hollywood movie “Men in Black: International,” where he met Chris Hemsworth.
What makes him Unique:
Today, Ashish Chanchlani has over 30.4 million subscribers on YouTube and despite his success, he prefers to be known as an entertainer, not just an influencer.
