New Delhi: In a significant stride towards sustainable living and energy conservation, Bharat Smart Services (BSS), a Hyderabad-based T-hub startup, has launched the “Climate Yodha Movement” on the eve of Independence Day (15th August 2024). This initiative is part of BSS’s mission to make energy conservation an everyday habit for everyone.
About the Climate Yodha Movement
The Climate Yodha Movement is designed to transform the local workforce into “Climate Yodhas,” empowering consumers to combat climate change through energy conservation. This movement is not only a step towards environmental sustainability but also aims to generate self-employment opportunities for the local workforce, thereby supporting the wellbeing of local communities.
Bharat Smart Services has already empowered about 100 Climate Yodhas by providing them with:
Climate Yodha Kit: Includes smart devices for conducting home appliance audits.
Education & Awareness: Training on climate change and the urgency for quick action.
Skill Development: Guidance on managing smart devices using the Bharat Smart Services App.
Consumer Interactions: Training to interact with consumers and handle their queries and complaints.
Programs Launched Under the Movement
As part of the Climate Yodha Movement, Bharat Smart Services has launched two innovative programs for consumers:
Energy Returns
Annual Subscription Fee: First-year subscription at ₹1,490 (including taxes).
Hardware Provided: 1 AI-powered Bharat Bijli Auditor (1 phase).
App Integration: Users can reduce their usage and bill while having the opportunity to earn back 100% of their subscription fee as Energy Returns.
Usage: Energy Returns can be used for purchasing energy-efficient appliances.
How It Works:
Users pay an annual subscription to enroll in the program.
They receive a 1-phase Bharat Bijli Auditor, along with installation instructions.
Once connected to home Wi-Fi, users get real-time data on their home appliance usage.
Users can set monthly target units in the Bharat Smart Services App.
Upon achieving certain milestones, such as consuming less than the target units and maintaining a set number of “Green Days,” users can earn up to 100% of their subscription fee back as Energy Returns.
Appliance Audit Returns
One-Time Subscription Fee: ₹990 (including taxes).
Hardware Provided: One Bharat Smart Plug.
App Integration: Users can audit every pluggable appliance, know their actual wattage, and control them remotely.
Usage: Users can earn returns for every unique appliance audited, up to the maximum amount of the subscription fee.
How It Works:
Users pay a one-time subscription fee to enroll in the program.
They receive a Bharat Smart Plug that can be connected to any appliance (e.g., Refrigerator, AC, Geyser, Washing Machine).
The Smart Plug connects to the home Wi-Fi, and users can see the appliance’s actual wattage in the Bharat Smart Services App.
Users receive returns for every unique appliance audited, following the BSS guidelines.
Role and Benefits for Climate Yodhas
Responsibilities:
Climate Yodhas receive requests for home appliance audits through the Climate Yodha App.
They schedule and perform audits in consultation with the consumer.
Each Yodha is expected to perform appliance audits in a minimum of 100 homes per month.
Incentives:
Climate Yodhas are incentivized based on the number of homes audited and the number of consumers onboarded for the Energy Returns/Appliance Audit Returns programs.
