New Delhi: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, shared his morning routine, highlighting how he keeps up with news from around the world. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Dimon described his early start and the newspapers he reads to stay informed about US and global events.
“I wake up at around 4:35 am and go through five newspapers in a specific order,” Dimon said. He starts with the Washington Post: “I skim the Post because many people read it. I check the front page, interesting stories, the business section, and the editorials where smart people write.”
Next, he reads the New York Times: “I go through the front section completely, even if I don’t agree with everything, and I look at their business section.” Dimon then reads the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times: “I go through the WSJ’s front section and exchange section, then the FT.”
He explained his choices: “I read the FT last because the others are mostly focused on the US. Since we work in 100 countries, the FT gives a wider view, like The Economist.”
He added, “I read The Economist every weekend to keep up with news in places like Pakistan, India, the UK, the Middle East, and China. The Economist is very well done, and the FT covers a lot of the same areas, which I find valuable.”
