New Delhi: Google is purportedly conducting trials of AI-generated email responses within the Gmail app for Android, as per a report by Android Central. Currently in beta, the feature integrates Gemini AI into Gmail, similar to its implementation in other Google services like Google Drive and Docs, accessible through the Google One AI Premium subscription. Gemini AI offers suggestions for composing emails, though this functionality is presently limited to beta users.
Once activated, Gemini will analyze received emails and propose contextually appropriate responses, offering users three potential replies, which could range from single to multiple sentences. Users can select a suggested reply, which seamlessly transfers to the compose field, ready for editing or sending.
Although currently available to a select group, the feature is expected to roll out globally to Google One AI subscribers soon.
As per the reports, Google is contemplating making its Search Generative Experience (SGE), a generative AI-powered search tool exclusive to paid-tier users. The plan incorporates generative AI features into the One AI Premium subscription, including the experimental AI-powered search service. Despite this change, Google’s traditional search service will remain free, although ads may still be displayed in search results regardless of subscription status.
