New Delhi: The top 100 list of the World’s Best Companies of 2023, published by TIME Magazine and online data portal Statista, only includes Infosys, a significant provider of information technology. The top 3 companies on the list are Microsoft, Apple, and Alphabet (owner of Google), whereas India’s Infosys was rated 64th with an aggregate score of 88.38 out of 100.
According to a new statistical ranking of 750 of the world’s best companies by Statista and TIME, Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet (the company that owns Google), and Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) were the top four businesses. The ranking was based on a formula of revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys, and rigorous environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG or sustainability) data, according to a press release from Time Magazine.
In addition to Infosys, there were 7 other firms mentioned in the list of 750. Anand Mahindra-led Mahindra Group was at position 210 on the ranking, while big IT player Wipro was at position 174. Reliance Industries was ranked at position 248, followed by HCL Technologies at position 262, HDFC Bank at position 418, WNS Global Services at position 596, and ITC at position 672.
In its most recent fiscal year, Microsoft, the top business in the world rankings, made $72 billion, a 63% increase from 2020, while simultaneously lowering overall emissions by 0.5%. According to TIME Magazine’s website regarding the rankings, it also stated in its most recent annual study that both employees who identify as members of racial and ethnic minorities and women made more money overall in the United States than their male counterparts.
In terms of sustainability, Infosys was placed 135th, while the business came in at number 103 in terms of employee happiness. According to TIME Magazine, the firm has seen rapid development. One of the top three global providers of professional services was Infosys.
With an overall score of 88.38, the worldwide consulting and IT services firm with headquarters in Bengaluru placed 64th out of 750 global corporations.
The company said on X (previously Twitter), “We are among the top 3 global professional services firms and the only brand from India in the Top 100 global rankings.” Infosys was also included as one of the top three global providers of professional services.
Infosys was not just the only Indian business to score within the top 100, but it was also among the top three professional services firms, with Accenture ranking fourth and Deloitte at number 36.
Seven additional Indian firms, in addition to Infosys, had their names included in TIME’s list of 750 firms.
