New Delhi (India), August 22: Sustainable development is key to addressing global challenges. While each country has its own impetus on how to be sustainable and up its sustainability quotient, every industry faces its own unique challenges. In India, the political leaders are trying to pave their way too.
To comprehend the dynamic change, there are many international perspectives we need to understand to achieve SDG targets by the respective countries and India per se. In order to provide a rich knowledge-exchanging platform Ms. Harsha Saxena, Founder of IICSR group (iicsr.com), has created two platforms for live interactions with global change makers (LIGC) and Youth questions. In LIGC, she features some of the prominent voices globally and discusses the challenges and opportunities for CSR, ESG, sustainable development and allied areas for holistic development. In India, not only are the corporate leaders engaged, but also the elected political leaders are questioned about the sustainability development activities in their respective constituencies. Thus giving impetus to SDGs implementation locally and bringing awareness of the NITI Aayog SDG Index focused on every constituency.
Some of the noteworthy guests on LIGC are Dr. Michael Hopkins, MHCI International (Geneva), Mr. Sune Skadegaard, Founder, and CEO of Global CSR (Denmark), Rajesh Srivastava, Chairman RABO EQUITY (India), Elaine Cohen, Founder and CEO Beyond Business (Israel), Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Former DG and CEO IICA, Mr. Steve Rochlin, Judge Mervyn King, Chairman Integrated reporting and Director GRI, A Balasubranium, MD Aditya Birla sun life insurance, Mr Navneet Munot, MD HDFC AMC and other eminent corporate leaders. On youth questions, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister Railways and many other portfolios; Shri Ashish Shellar, President Mumbai BJP; Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister Tourism, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship; Smt Priya Dutt, Shri Francisco Sardinha, Former CM Goa, Smt Geeta Kora, MP Singh hum, Jharkhand and other tall leaders have shared their initiatives on SDGs in their constituency.
Harsha states that “Climate change, human rights, and sustainable development are no more mere concepts; these are the realities that every business and government has to address to even sustain. Platforms for knowledge exchange on sustainable development among global leaders are quintessential for international trade, social development, foreign direct investment and the global economy at large. Live interactions with global change makers and Youth questing provides this platform for the intellectual exchange “
