New Delhi: Microsoft has unveiled Microsoft 365 Copilot, a new subscription service that gives well-known office programmes like Word, Excel, and Teams access to AI. The $30 monthly fee for the service is estimated to result in an 83 % increase in monthly pricing for business clients. With this action, we aim to increase our revenue through recurring subscriptions.
Users can use AI capabilities with Microsoft Copilot, like sorting incoming emails, summarising meetings, analysing spreadsheet data, providing writing prompts, and creating presentations. The Microsoft Graph, which includes emails, calendars, chats and documents, is the foundation for the service’s generative AI architecture. Users may be sure that Copilot adheres to Microsoft’s established security, privacy, and compliance rules ofr Microsoft 365.
600 business users, including Goodyear and General Motors, are actively testing the service; however, Microsoft has not provided a definite launch date for the general public. Microsoft’s ongoing attempts to improve its office software suite and make it more appealing to companies looking to incorporate AI into their operations include this subscription.

The monthly subscription charge of $30 per user is significantly more expensive than the current Microsoft 365 options. For instance, organisations that subscribe to Microsoft 365 E3 will almost triple their expenditures, and those that subscribe to Microsoft 365 Business Standard will nearly triple their costs.
Microsoft’s significant investment in developing its AI-powered products, including a multibillion-dollar investment in OpenAI, is a factor in the more significant cost of Microsoft 365 copilot. Prices have also increased due to the growing demand for Nvidia GPUs to power AI features.
Apart from just pricing, Microsoft has also launching Bing Chat Enterprise, an enhanced version of Bing Chat with added commercial data protection. It will be available in preview mode and included at no additional cost in select Microsoft 365 plans.
