The Budget seems to give more push to employability readiness in youths. Direct Benefit Transfer under a pan India national apprenticeship scheme which will impact 47 lakh youths, seems promising. Setting up 100 Labs in engineering institutions will help graduates be ready to build applications on India’s 5G stack. Focus on smart classrooms will also help us take advantage of the metaverse and immersive learning. Overall it should help India to release its demographic dividend for inclusive development. We applaud the government’s decision to establish a National Digital Library for Children and Adolescence to facilitate access to high-quality books on any device. The finance minister’s decision to expand Eklavya model schools for tribal students is another step forward in promoting digital literacy. Furthermore, by proposing 30 Skill India International centers across various states, this year’s budget clearly emphasizes the importance of closing the skill gap in youth across India.

Setting up three centers of excellence for AI in top educational institutions will boost research and help develop cutting-edge applications in agriculture, health, and sustainable cities. There is also a clear focus on promoting startups and entrepreneurship.

India’s healthcare sector is the largest sector among the world’s countries. It is the fastest-growing sector that provides various services in the field of medicine. The Finance Minister of India Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman proposed the annual budget for 2023-24 today. One of the most important highlights of the budget was the recent developments in the medical sector.
The Finance Minister, in her presentation, stated that 157 new nursing colleges would be set up across 4 major locations in India. This will open up new opportunities for students across the country. The government has also proposed a plan to increase health expenditure by 2.5% of the total gross GDP. Moreover, emphasis will be laid on developing research facilities across various ICMR labs throughout the country. Various new projects have been devised to promote pharmaceutical research. The new budget has also focussed on various multi-dispensary courses, enabling better medical facilities across rural areas.
Compared to the previous year, this year’s budget is overall student-centric as it will provide maximum benefit to thousands of medical aspirants across the nation. Moreover, the budget will also benefit the teachers and mentors as more and more emphasis will be given to providing quality training sessions to them.
