Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is already making waves overseas, racking up over $770,000 in advance ticket sales—and with more than two weeks left before it hits theaters on November 5, 2026. That’s not even counting India, where bookings start Tuesday, right as the country celebrates Dussehra.
North America is leading the charge. The US and Canada together have contributed about $558,000, making up nearly three-quarters of the total international pre-sales so far. The UK follows with $141,000, and Australia has pitched in around $72,000. Reports from Moneycontrol and The Times of India put the movie’s overseas sales close to the $1 million mark even before Indian audiences get a shot.
US premiere tickets went on sale October 15 through Fandango, and fans wasted no time. Around 10,800 tickets for the November 4 US premieres sold for nearly $210,000, with North America’s total for premiere events crossing $250,000 once Canada is included. In the first 24 hours, US sales breezed past $150,000, later landing at over $317,900 from around 16,000 tickets.
If you’re curious about opening day figures, advance bookings for November 5 have already reached $162,000 across North America, the UK, and Australia.
Everyone’s watching India next. Advance sales open October 20 and could explode, with some industry insiders eyeing a ₹100 crore debut—though that’s just a prediction, and the final numbers will depend on how many screens the film grabs, pricing, and whether audiences show up after release.
Ramayana is shaping up for an IMAX rollout in international markets, which usually bumps up ticket prices. Still, it’ll have to compete with Godzilla: Minus Zero, which drops in US theaters the very next day. US premiere tickets average almost $19.50, hinting at strong demand for upscale formats, though there’s no clear breakdown yet between IMAX, 3D, and standard tickets.
The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The budget’s big—₹4,000 crore, according to reports—so expectations are sky-high. The world premiere is set for October 27 at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
Overseas sales look promising, but it’s the Indian debut, the scale of the release, and word-of-mouth after opening weekend that’ll decide if Ramayana truly becomes a legend at the box office.
