New Delhi: Deepinder Goyal’s Temple wearable is edging toward an actual launch. The Zomato founder posted images of six colour options on LinkedIn and said pre-orders could open “hopefully next week.”
The wording matters here. He called them the colours for the “launch edition,” which suggests more could follow later, though nothing confirms that. There’s also the “hopefully.” Goyal said the team is still waiting on certainty for a couple of items before sales begin, and he didn’t say which ones. So next week is a target, not a date.
Two things are still missing: a price and an exact pre-order date. Neither has been confirmed. People on the early-access waitlist get priority when bookings open.

Pre-orders open soon – hopefully next week; just need certainty on a couple more items.

For anyone who hasn’t followed Temple, it’s a strange product by wearable standards. Goyal has described a sensor that sits on the wearer’s temple and tracks cerebral blood flow continuously. The company calls its approach “BrainFlow” and says it worked with researchers at IISc and IIT Bombay to validate it. Validation by academics isn’t the same as proof the device does something useful for ordinary buyers, and that question will hang over the launch.
The money is real, though. In February, Temple raised $54 million at roughly a $190 million post-money valuation, from founder friends and early Zomato backers. That came weeks after Goyal left the CEO role at Zomato and its parent Eternal. At the time the pitch was a high-performance wearable for elite athletes.
Hardware has also shrunk. Goyal said earlier that the current Temple is less than half the size of the version shown before. He has previously indicated the limited launch edition could ship before the end of 2026.
So what’s left to watch? The price, first. Then whether pre-orders really open when he hopes. And eventually, independent reviews, which will say far more about Temple than any colour lineup.
