New Delhi, October 2: In continuation of its sustained efforts towards effective disposal of seized narcotic drugs in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Madhya Pradesh Unit carried out the destruction of seized narcotic drugs at Vikram Cement, Khor, Madhya Pradesh, yesterday.
During the disposal operation, 10,842.150 kg seized narcotic drugs were destroyed through the authorised disposal process as per NDPS Act, 1985 under close watch of Drug Disposal Committee and in presence of representative of MP Pollution Control Board. In addition of this, the CBN also deposited 154.375 kg seized opium, at the Government Opium and Alkaloid Works (GOAW), Neemuch, as part of the disposal process.
The details of the drugs destroyed are as follows:

The destruction/disposal of seized narcotic drugs is undertaken by CBN in accordance with the applicable provisions and prescribed procedures, ensuring that seized contraband does not re-enter the illicit drug trafficking network and also gets incinerated environmentally safe manner.
The CBN continues to maintain a comprehensive approach towards combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, encompassing intelligence-based enforcement, seizure of contraband, investigation and prosecution, and timely disposal of seized narcotic substances in accordance with law.
CBN remains firmly committed to its mandate of making concerted efforts towards a Drug-Free India and strengthening the fight against illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
